Oli is a IT expert, currently working as a Data Analyst, also called a MI or a BI Analyst . His expertise is to take raw data created during the business process, and develop a synopsis which can be used for management decisions. There are very few things he can't do with Excel! . His employer is a telemarketing outsourcing company.  The data he refines is therefore used by a number of top companies - even if they don't realise it! :)

Prior to this role, he worked for local government, as a business advisor.  During this time, he gained a great deal of practical experience in understanding the difference between business theory and the practical way that companies operated. He also developed a cynical view of government business intervention.  Having been involved in a number of high profile initiatives, he saw how businesses were often frustrated by the way that the headlines rarely matched the small print.

He has also worked for a number of the biggest names in IT in the UK, including Evesham,PCWB, and Tiny. His speciality is advising on how to develop an integration between business and IT processes. Oli's approach is looking at the holistic process from the viewpoint of an employee and focuses on the influences and incentives that determine if they will use the new systems as intended.  He has worked, using this methodology, on helping small businesses develop e-commerce solutions.  These combined goodonline marketing and back office procedures. This allows small businesses to compete directly with larger organisations, helping them with their profitability.

Over the past few years, Oli has presented a number of seminars on business and the internet. One of his most popular being titled 'How to be number 1 on Google'. from 2006.  He has also been invited to speak by the Welsh Assembly on 'Mobile working' in the past few years.  He now prefers mentoring businesses through various private LinkedIn groups as well as on a one to one basis in the Chester / Flintshire area.  However, having set up the CH4 Business Club, he still faces an audience on a regular basis.

Away from the office, Oli, the weather dictates his interests. Wet weather is for discovering technologies and experimenting with new concepts.  His main focus being on open source apps, wireless networks and remote logging of mechanical devices.   Dry weather is for riding his motorbike and camping. He currently rides a classic Honda VFR 750.
